The Integral Hatha Yoga course offered by Ananda is directed to the absolute beginners in yoga, as well as to the more experienced yogi’s.  ‘Ha’ and ‘tha’ originate from Sanskrit and stand for ‘sun’ and ‘moon’, the archetypal male and female energies.  Hatha Yoga aspires to balance both energies in the body in order to still the mental agitation – as Patanjali defined in his yoga sutras.

During the Hatha Yoga practice we keep the body in different bodily postures – asanas- for longer time. This will make your body more flexible, the  inner organs get massaged and you will feel a strong beneficial physical effect. But, asanas can do much more then just that! Each posture activates a specific energy point in your subtle body, the so called chakras. In this course we learn to focus the mind upon these chakras during each exercise and thus you will discover the effects of this. In this way Hatha Yoga is a proces of consciousness, of mental silence and of physical work. A unique concept which gives quick results!

We start traditionally with a short theoretical exposure in which we teach the spiritual and esoteric part. This can be the presentation of a new exercise, a moral or ethical rule in yoga or a more philosophical subject. (+/- 20 min).

Afterwards we continue with the actual yoga session, always starting with the warming-up exercices, followed by asanas and ending with the final relaxation.

After the class you always have the possibility to ask extra questions, in private or in group.

Please bring a yogamat and wear comfortable/sport clothes.
